We study the decay B^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→J/\ensuremathψK^\ensuremath-\ensuremathπ+\ensuremathπ^\ensuremath- using 117\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi106 BB events collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e^\ensuremath- asymmetric-energy storage ring. We measure the branching fractions B (B^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→J/\ensuremathψK^\ensuremath-\ensuremathπ+\ensuremathπ^\ensuremath-)=(116\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi7(stat.)\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi9(syst.))\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-5 and B (B^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→X(3872)K^\ensuremath-)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi B (X(3872)\ensuremath→J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremathπ+\ensuremathπ^\ensuremath-)=(1.28\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.41)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-5 and find the mass of the X(3872) to be 3873.4\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi1.4 MeV/c2. We search for the hc narrow state in the decay B^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→hcK^\ensuremath-, hc\ensuremath→J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremathπ+\ensuremathπ^\ensuremath- and for the decay B^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→J/\ensuremathψD0\ensuremathπ^\ensuremath-, with D0\ensuremath→K^\ensuremath-\ensuremathπ+. We set the 90% C.L. limits B(B^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→hcK^\ensuremath-)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fiB(hc\ensuremath→J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremathπ+\ensuremathπ^\ensuremath-)<3.4\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-6 and B(B^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→J/\ensuremathψD0\ensuremathπ^\ensuremath-)<5.2\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-5.
