We have studied the process e+e^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→\ensuremathμ+\ensuremathμ^\ensuremath-\ensuremathγ at a center-of-mass energy near the \mathit\ensuremathΥ(4S) resonance for a \ensuremathμ+\ensuremathμ^\ensuremath- invariant mass range near the J/\ensuremathψ mass and measured the cross section \ensuremathσ(e+e^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→J/\ensuremathψ\stackrel\ensuremath→\ensuremathγ\ensuremathμ+\ensuremathμ^\ensuremath-\ensuremathγ). The data set, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 88.4fb^\ensuremath-1, was collected using the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II collider. From the measured cross section we extract the product \ensuremathΓ(J/\stackrel\ensuremath→\ensuremathψe+e^\ensuremath-)B(J/\stackrel\ensuremath→\ensuremathψ\ensuremathμ+\ensuremathμ^\ensuremath-)=0.330\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.008\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.007keV. Using the world averages for B(J/\stackrel\ensuremath→\ensuremathψ\ensuremathμ+\ensuremathμ^\ensuremath-) and B(J/\stackrel\ensuremath→\ensuremathψe+e^\ensuremath-), we derive the J/\ensuremathψ electronic and total widths: \ensuremathΓ(J/\stackrel\ensuremath→\ensuremathψe+e^\ensuremath-)=5.61\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.20keV and \ensuremathΓ=94.7\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi4.4keV.
