Abstract

We derive an analytic result for the pion pole contribution to the light-by-light scattering correction to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, a_\ensuremathμ\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex(g_\ensuremathμ\ensuremath-2)/2. Using the vector meson dominance model for the pion transition form factor, we obtain a_\ensuremathμ^LBL,\ensuremathπ0\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex+56\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-11.
