The contributions of the neutral top-pion \ensuremathπt0 and the nonuniversal gauge boson Z^\ensuremath' predicted by the topcolor scenario to the lepton flavor violating semileptonic \ensuremathτ decays \ensuremathτ\ensuremath→lP(V) (P=\ensuremathπ0, \ensuremathη, \ensuremathη^\ensuremath' and V=\ensuremathρ0, \ensuremathφ) are discussed. We find that the contributions of Z^\ensuremath' to these decay processes are generally larger than those from \ensuremathπt0. \ensuremathπt0 can only make the value of the branching ratio Br(\ensuremathτ\ensuremath→lP) in the range of 1\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-11--1\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-16, which is far below the sensitivity of foreseeable experiments. With reasonable values of the free parameters, the nonuniversal gauge boson Z^\ensuremath' can make the value of the branching ratio Br(\ensuremathτ^\ensuremath-\ensuremath→\ensuremathμ^\ensuremath-\ensuremathφ) reach 1\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-7, which might approach the observable threshold of near-future experiments.
