Abstract

High on nitride: Discrete iron nitride complexes stabilized by N-anchored tris(carbene) ligands have been synthesized (see picture). These high-valent FeIVN complexes are stable at room temperature, which allows their full spectroscopic and—for the first time—crystallographic characterization.
