Abstract

Osteopeltidae n. fam. is proposed for Osteopelta mirabilis n. gen. & sp., a limpet from whale skulls trawled on the Chatham Rise and off the Chatham Islands, New Zealand. Osteopelta mirabilis combines a pseudococculinid-like shell and radula with an add-isoniid-like animal. Apparent homologies in lepe-telloidean and cocculinoidean radulae are discussed.
