Over the past nine centuries, all unsuccessful attempts to experience a gravity-basedperpetual motion machine have consistently involved spinning or overbalanced wheels. Suchmechanical structures cannot achieve perpetual motion. Mass in a loop cannot be used togenerate kinetic energy. To achieve perpetual motion, a system must possess both aninitiating force and a sustaining force while performing useful work. This necessitates thecreation of energy and the reversal or offsetting of system disorder. This philosophicaldiscourse proposes one of two new approaches that may lead to the successful experienceof a gravity-based perpetual motion machine. A specific configuration and its embodimentare suggested, with accompanying diagrams. This paper also discusses potential implicationsand outlines further research directions inspired by its proposition.
