Based on the published literature, we have compiled a checklist of the parasite-host associations of American hippoboscid flies (Diptera: Hippoboscidae) and their avian hosts (Aves). The checklist is divided into three parts. The first is a detailed geographic checklist of all New World species of hippoboscids, their known hosts, and the countries and other territories from which they are known. The second is organized by host species/subspecies and lists all known hippoboscids associated with them, identified to species or genus. The third lists all recorded hippoboscid species by country and territory in the Americas. In total, 43 species of Hippoboscidae are listed, associated with 26 orders, 73 families, 310 genera, and 757 species/subspecies of birds from 41 countries and territories. Zusammenfassung Auf der Grundlage veröffentlichter Literatur wird eine Checkliste der Parasit-Wirt-Beziehungen der amerikanischen Lausfliegen (Diptera: Hippoboscidae) und ihrer Vogelwirte (Aves) zusammengestellt. Die Checkliste ist in drei Teile gegliedert. Der erste Teil stellt eine detaillierte geografische Checkliste aller Lausfliegen-Arten der Neuen Welt, ihrer bekannten Wirte sowie der Länder und anderen Gebiete dar, aus denen sie bekannt sind. Der zweite Teil ist nach Wirtsarten/-unterarten geordnet und listet alle bekannten Lausfliegen, identifiziert bis zur Art oder Gattung auf, die mit ihnen vergesellschaftet sind. Der dritte Teil listet alle erfassten Lausfliegen nach Ländern und Gebieten in Amerika auf. Insgesamt werden 43 Arten von Lausfliegen aufgelistet, die mit 26 Ordnungen, 73 Familien, 310 Gattungen und 757 Arten/Unterarten an Vögeln aus 41 Ländern und Gebieten assoziiert sind.
