Abstract

This paper examines the relationship between corruption and productivity at the firm level, utilizing data from the Vietnam Small and Medium Enterprises Survey conducted between 2005 and 2015. Our primary empirical finding reveals a positive correlation between bribery and firm productivity, as well as with other firm characteristics such as size and formality status. Our findings emphasize the importance of assessing the impact of corruption on economic activity.
