On 20 May 2024, Wellcome held a workshop on schistosomiasis at the Wellcome Collection in London, UK. Attendees included researchers, policymakers, funders, and other stakeholders in the schistosomiasis space. Together, they discussed progress, research gaps, and routes to impactful results in future. This report was written to capture the conclusions from the workshop. Priority research gaps included causes of treatment failure, how environmental change impacts schistosomiasis, and what is needed to reduce transmission. Suggested approaches to address some of the research gaps recognised the importance of cross-cutting multidisciplinary approaches and decision-maker and community engagement in the schistosomiasis space.
