ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Yuki Ishii and Jessica Orr are co-first authors on ‘ Compound screening in human airway basal cells identifies Wnt pathway activators as potential pro-regenerative therapies’, published in JCS. Yuki is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the lab of Sam Janes at Lungs for Living Research Centre, University College London, investigating mechanisms of stem cell regeneration. Jessica is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the lab of Robert Hynds at Epithelial Cell Biology in ENT Research Group, University College London Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, investigating epithelial stem cell biology.
