Abstract

The paper discusses the community's need to use urban space for recreation based on surveys conducted in 2016-2017 in three separate zones of the city of Bydgoszcz, with 2,328 respondents. In the study, three research areas were defined (namely A1 - attachment to public space, A2 - sense of security in public space, and A3 - meeting the needs of public space users). The study based on fuzzy relations showed that respondents are generally very attached to usable spaces and look for places to regenerate their mental strength.
