The molars of Seorsumuscardinus alpinus DE BRUIJN, 1998 and Heissigia bolligeri PRIETO &B OHME, 2007 are compared. Heissigia is a junior synonym of Seorsumuscardinus. The species S. bolligeri (PRIETO &B OHME, 2007) is confirmed and proves the utility of the genus in Early Miocene biostratigraphy.
