Abstract

Peri–DPA(R) ⇌ (Peri–DPA(R))˙+ (R = CN, F, Me, and OMe) exhibit reversible electrochromism, with radical cation stability achieved by spin delocalization and aromaticity, and further strengthened by electron-donating groups.
