In this paper, four hydryphantid water mites from southern China, i.e., Panisopsis (s. str.) lixunae Zhan & Guo, sp. nov ., Deuterothyas crescentis Zhan & Guo, sp. nov ., Deuterothyas fulu Zhan & Guo, sp. nov . and Deuterothyas fujianensis Zhan & Guo, sp. nov ., are described as new to science. The latter three species represent a newly recorded genus in the subfamily Euthyadinae Viets, 1931 for the Chinese fauna. Additionally, detailed documentation of their habitats, which consist of moss or green algae at the water margin, is provided. Furthermore, using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and compound microscopy, secondary sclerotizations were discovered under the integument during adult maturation in the genus Deuterothyas Lundblad, 1941.
