Abstract

Abstract A novel hexameric yttrium containing arsenotungstate nano‐cluster having formula Cs 5 Na 23 [AsCOHY 2 W 4 O 10 (H 2 O) 5 ‐(AsW 9 O 33 ) 3 2 ].43H 2 O (1a) has been successfully synthesized by a one‐pot reaction under mild conditions. The nanocluster 1a was isolated using Y(NO 3 ) 3 .6H 2 O and trilacunary sodium salt of lone pair containing (AsW 9 O 33 ) in 1 M sodium acetate buffer solution with pH = 4.7. The polyanion 1a was characterized with different analytical techniques such as single crystal X‐ray diffraction (SC‐XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy. The polyanion 1a was also used for catalytic oxidation of different thioethers in the presence of a green oxidant i.e., H 2 O 2 with high turnover frequency.
