Abstract

This document provides a structured architectural overview of the Compression–Response Transition Index (CRTI) framework, a research program for detecting fold-type critical transitions in multivariate dynamical systems. The paper is explicitly non-contributory and introduces no new theoretical results. Instead, it establishes a navigation layer that organizes the framework into three core components: (i) core theory (Structural Compression Φ, CRTI = R/Φ, and the Structural–Dynamic Separability condition), (ii) mathematical foundations, and (iii) cross-domain applications. A central contribution of this document is the formal definition of a primary reference paper, which serves as the canonical anchor for the framework’s core constructs, scope conditions, and boundary assumptions. All related publications are positioned relative to this reference as foundational, extending, or applied contributions. By making the internal structure of the CRTI framework explicit, this document reduces fragmentation perception in multi-paper research programs and improves navigability, interpretability, and discoverability for readers, reviewers, and interdisciplinary audiences in open-science environments.
