Abstract

"The Mechanical Universe: A Thermodynamic Audit of Time, Gravity, and Heat" This paper proposes a mechanical and thermodynamic translation of General Relativity, replacing the abstract geometric model of "curved spacetime" with a physical Atomic Ledger (Etotal = f + v + Wg). It argues that the speed of light (c) is not a speed, but a strict energy budget for atomic action. By treating gravity as a continuous instruction to accelerate, the paper demonstrates that "standing still" on a planet is actually a high-energy state of Arrested Impact. The kinetic energy generated by gravity is physically blocked by the ground and flash-converted into the heat of resistance (Wg), while the atom's internal clock slows down to pay for the effort. This mechanical ledger uses standard math to solve major cosmological anomalies without relying on invisible placeholders: Planetary Heat: The "Gravity Tax" perfectly accounts for Earth's internal core heat and the planetary dynamo. Dark Matter & Dark Energy: Galactic rotation and accelerated cosmic expansion are explained as the structural friction and volumetric "thermal exhaust" of a universe performing immense gravitational work. Frame Dragging: Redefined as lateral physical resistance (fluid drag) rather than twisted space, verified by the massive, anomalous heat generated by Neptune’s retrograde moon, Triton. Ultimately, the paper bridges the gap between calculating the universe and truly comprehending it, returning physics to an intuitive foundation of flow, effort, and thermodynamics
