Abstract

Root necrosis of strawberry ( Fragaria × ananassa), caused by Colletotrichum acutatum, is introduced in production fields via quiescent infections in the transplants. Typical symptoms manifest after plant establishment as leaf wilting or yellowing and stunted growth. This trial used ‘Florida Beauty’ transplants that received pre-plant treatments applied by drenching or dipping of the plants in a fungicide suspension. Disease incidence and marketable yield data were collected throughout the trial. Our findings contribute to integrated disease management decisions to control root necrosis caused by C. acutatum.
