Objective: The project "IPS-Coaching - Back to Work" (IPS-ZIB) examined whether IPS coaching improves (re)integration into work compared to standard care. Methods: A prospective, non-randomized, controlled, bicentric study conducted over two years with 244 participants (IPS: n=150; control group/CG: n=94) with affective (90%) or psychotic disorders. Results: There were no sign. differences between IPS (62%) and VG (64%) in terms of re-employment, applications for disability pension and sheltered workshop, days until to job (re)entry or the duration of employment. Having an existing employment contract at the start of the study was generally associated with a higher integration rate. Conclusions: IPS did not show superiority over standard care. The high integration rate in both groups suggests generally favorable employment conditions in this specific sample and possibly special study conditions. Individuals without employment contracts require targeted support.
