Abstract A second Trump administration has many dangerous and concerning implications for the 65.2 million Latinxs living in the United States. This essay explores how a diverse Latinx population can build on their distinct identities and experiences of organising in the United States to challenge white nationalist and nativist policies of the Trump administration. First, we give a brief introduction to varied histories and geographies of Latinx populations in the United States. Second, we trace the Trump administration's anti‐immigrant and anti‐Latinx rhetoric that employs geographic stereotypes. Finally, we look to historical examples of organising across social, cultural and political fault lines to argue that diverse experiences and perspectives can be harnessed to resist the narrow and violent white nationalist lens of the current administration.
