Abstract

Abstract We describe and evaluate a long-term university-based physics outreach activity aimed at widening participation in physics in higher education to a more diverse range of young people. Levelling Up Physics consists of online near-peer tutoring and mentoring of pre-university students by current undergraduate and post-graduate physics students. Key benefits for participants are; increased knowledge of university application, improved confidence in how to improve physics knowledge and skills, provision of welcoming physics community.
