The family Tuckerellidae (Prostigmata: Tetranychoidea) includes 32 known species worldwide, with three of them reported in Brazil. Studies of the mite fauna associated with the native vegetation of the Pampa biome have revealed a great diversity of mites, including the discovery of new species and new records to Brazil. In this study, the species Tuckerella elegans is recorded for the first time in Brazil, from the Pampa biome, state of Rio Grande do Sul. Female and larva were collected on Baccharis articulata (Lam.) Pers. (Asteraceae). Additionally, a key to the species of Tuckerellidae recorded in the country is provided.
