The northwestern part of Prague comprises the Litovicko-Šárecký Stream valley and the dramatic cobblestone gorge of Divoká Šárka. Although it is not the most suitable environment for snails, it was part of a long-term monitoring project (1984–2008). This paper summarises the project’s results and compares them with those of a thorough current faunistic survey. Currently, 85 mollusc species have been found in the study area. The most visible trend in the development of the mollusc fauna is the replacement of steppe species by common forest species that benefit from the overgrowth of steppe biotopes. The results confirm the presence of a living Pupilla triplicata population in Sedlecké skály NR, although the area with the highest mollusc abundance is the stream’s floodplain. Two non-native species new to the Czech Republic were found during the survey: Paralaoma servilis and Krynickillus melanocephalus.
