Abstract

A new crane fly species, Tipula (Vestiplex) longistila sp. nov . is described and illustrated from North Korea. Additionally, Tipula (Vestiplex) dhalma Starkevich & Podenas, 2011, previously known from the Far East of Russia and Tipula (Vestiplex) verecunda Alexander, 1924, previously known only from Jeju Island (South Korea), are newly recorded from North Korea. An updated identification key to the Tipula (Vestiplex) crane flies of the Korean Peninsula is provided.
