Abstract

Abstract Hospital-onset C. difficile infection (HO-CDI) remains a common cause of healthcare-associated infection. This study evaluated antibiotic use (AU) and appropriateness in hospital-onset C. difficile cases compared to matched controls in an inpatient setting at a New York City hospital. Elevated or inappropriate AU was not associated with HO-CDI.
