Abstract

This article explores horticulture-related collections held by the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) in Burlington, Ontario and Ingenium in Ottawa that share a provenance from the Central Experimental Farm in Ottawa. The article reviews key collections including RBG’s Isabella Preston archival collection and Ingenium’s collection of art produced by Faith Fyles. The article also suggests ways the Preston and Fyles collections could contribute new insights into the histories of Canadian horticulture, science, and the environment.
