Abstract

A covalently interlocked (as confirmed by XRD) macrocycle ([2]CIM) with 31 benzene units, rigid 3D architecture, and inherent porosity is reported, with a high BET surface area (507 m 2 g −1 ) and selective ethane uptake over ethylene.
