Abstract

Biomimetic bromination of unactivated C–H bonds catalyzed by an iron porphyrin complex with LiBr was achieved. Introduction of Li + completely inhibited the oxygen-rebound pathway. A carbocation was proposed as the key intermediate for the reaction.
