We observe that transmission of ultraviolet light in hollow core fibers at wavelengths below 280 nm can induce a temporary, spectrally broad attenuation feature centered at 325 nm. The induced loss matched the absorption spectrum of gaseous chlorine and was as high as 16 dB in a 4 meter length. The effect dissipated once the UV exposure below 280 nm was blocked.
