Mental health (or, rather, the lack thereof) is one of the issues shaping public debate in recent years. Now, a quarter of the way through the 21st century, it's clear that the problem, far from being resolved, is becoming more entrenched, especially in societies inhabiting large cities. The main objective of this research is to determine the current situation of young people. To this end, a questionnaire was developed and completed by 1,349 people. The age range was set between 18 and 30 years. The initial population was reduced to a sample of 903 people, randomly selected with the help of the efficient AntConc search engine. The results provide sufficient information to categorically state that young people not only suffer greatly as a consequence of poor mental health, but also require appropriate and timely care to prevent their disorders from becoming chronic and more severe, and from degenerating into more complex pathologies. Communication and existing tools can help a large number of people manage the obstacles they face with a greater degree of confidence and resilience.
