Summary The relationship between philosophy and neurodiversity has been a focus of study only since the 2010s, but it is emerging as an important subfield of philosophy in interaction with other existing subfields in philosophy. Neurodiversity theory is being developed in a number of core directions, with areas of particular interest including neurodiversity’s relationship to epistemology, phenomenology, and neuroqueer theory, as well as ethical and political philosophy.
