Abstract

This article is a review of the comics studies collection Comics and Modernism: History, Form, and Culture (2024), edited by Jonathan Najaran. The collection features a range of articles by comics scholars on the social, cultural and aesthetic relationships between comics and avant-garde art practice- specifically modernist art practice.
