Sensory inclusion is an oft-forgotten aspect of accessibility in academic library spaces. When sensory inclusion efforts are absent from the design and modification of academic library environments, neurodivergent people and those with sensory sensitivities are left feeling unwelcome in these library spaces. University student populations are growing more aware of their own and others’ neurodivergence thanks to the destigmatization of discussing non-normative ways of being and communicating, so it is important to keep up with this awareness through sensory inclusive initiatives in academic libraries. Academic libraries who have taken important steps toward sensory inclusion for their students and patrons are highlighted as examples to build upon and possible points of contact. Ensuring that the people these sensory inclusive efforts are intended for are included every step of the way is vital.
