ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Disease Models & Mechanisms, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Sevda Boyanova is first author on ‘ Multi-modal comparative phenotyping of knock-in mouse models of frontotemporal dementia/amyotrophic lateral sclerosis’, published in DMM. Sevda is a postdoc in the lab of Dr Frances Wiseman at University College London, London, UK, investigating behavioural analysis of mouse models of aspects of dementia, including frontotemporal dementia and Alzheimer's disease, to better understand the mechanisms of these diseases.
