Abstract

During the first decades of this century, the Spanish film industry has undergone a profound structural transformation. The current research proposal is based on the hypothesis that there is an unprecedented opportunity for the production of works with greater thematic, cultural and gender diversity, driven by a process of decentralisation and diversification of the Spanish audiovisual industry. This phenomenon has reconfigured not only the geography of national cinema, but also its narratives, cultural identities and gender dynamics, from a more inclusive perspective, while also contributing to the improvement of working conditions for professionals and companies in the sector, allowing them to carry out their activities in their places of origin without having to move to the hegemonic centres of production.
