This zine explores the serendipitous event of my discovery of zines and explores, through a short story, how they became an essential part of my academic practice. As a multimodal physical object, created to share its maker views and experiences through imperfect, crafty and do-it-yourself modes, zines are not an obvious tool for academia. However, here, I explore and illustrate how zining became a situated and embodied practice leading to reflections about epistemology, academic norms and authenticity. The zine shares how zining became a practice of reclaiming time in a neoliberal academia to explore, play and share with others my discoveries.
