Abstract

Darobactin A is a potent antibiotic, but the biosynthesis of its derivative, dehydrodarobactin A, remains unclear. Here, we discovered HExxH enzyme DarF catalyzes a dehydrogenation-epoxidation reaction and linked to dehydrodarobactin A biosynthesis.
