Abstract

Triple therapy, adding calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs) to corticosteroids and MMF, is a promising treatment in lupus nephritis (LN)1,2. CNIs inhibit interleukin-2 secretion and T-cell proliferationS1, and lower proteinuria by stabilising podocyte cytoskeletonS2. In AURORA, add-on voclosporin improved adult LN remission3. Nevertheless, it remains untested in paediatric patients, with uncertain long-term safety and limited global access.
