Abstract

Properties of hypernuclei _\ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ5H and _\ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ5He are studied in a two-channel approach with explicit treatment of coupling of channels 3Z+\ensuremathΛ+\ensuremathΛ and \ensuremathα+\ensuremathΞ. Diagonal \ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ and coupling \ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ\ensuremath-\ensuremathΞN interactions are derived within G-matrix procedure from Nijmegen meson-exchange models. Bond energy \ensuremathΔB_\ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ in _\ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ5He exceeds significantly that in _\ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ5H due to the channel coupling. Diagonal \ensuremathΞ\ensuremathα attraction amplifies the effect, which is sensitive also to \ensuremathΛ-core interaction. The difference of the \ensuremathΔB_\ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ values can be an unambiguous signature of the \ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ\ensuremath-\ensuremathΞN coupling in \ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ hypernuclei. However, improved knowledge of the hyperon-nucleus potentials is needed for quantitative extraction of the coupling strength from future data on the \ensuremathΛ\ensuremathΛ hypernuclear binding energies.
