report?It seems inexplicable that it would not call for a pause to allow its questions to be answered.The UK has a long tradition of those in authority ignoring warning signs, shockingly revealed in recent inquiries such as the Infected Blood Inquiry, 28 the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, 29 and the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry.In all these cases there was plenty of evidence that should have led to action but was ignored.Perhaps those in charge of these scandals may also have regarded that evidence as a "whirlwind of anecdotes."Competing interests: Both authors are fellows of the Royal College of Physicians and signatories to the letter calling for the EGM that reversed
