Research on hackers has focused mainly on cyber-dependent offending and on their role in facilitating cyber-enabled harm, leaving limited evidence on whether, within verified hacker samples, co-occurring non-cyber offending is patterned in meaningful ways. Using survey data from 238 verified Zone-H website-defacing hackers, we examined whether adverse childhood experiences and mental health or neurodevelopmental diagnoses were associated with self-reported minor-directed sexual offending in the previous 12 months (online grooming, contact abuse, or both). Stepwise logistic and multinomial regressions identified differentiated correlates: online grooming was associated with childhood verbal victimization and autism diagnosis; contact offending with witnessing domestic violence and substance abuse diagnosis; and dual online-offline offending with family incarceration, verbal victimization, autism diagnosis, and substance abuse diagnosis. The findings do not indicate whether hackers are more likely than other groups to sexually offend; rather, they show that, within this rare verified active-offender sample, co-occurring sexual offending was structured by distinct developmental and clinical profiles. These results contribute to debates on specialization, versatility, and risk assessment in digitally skilled offender populations.
