Abstract A method for signal demodulation in a system with power-domain non-orthogonal multiple access is proposed. The method implements the principle of successive cancellation of demodulated components taking into account the variance of the estimation error and using a nonlinear function. The results of simulation of the proposed method in a cellular communication system are presented: the use of the proposed method allows an improvement by 1–3.5 dB compared to known algorithms, depending on the power ratio of signals transmitted by three user terminals.
