This perspective paper proposes the Structural Compression Hypothesis (SCH), which suggests that narratives encoding recurrent structural properties of complex adaptive systems may achieve greater long-term cultural persistence because such structures remain cognitively useful across changing historical environments. Using the Trojan Cycle as an illustrative case study, the paper develops a falsifiable research framework that integrates concepts from complexity science, cybernetics, systems engineering, cultural evolution, network science, computational narratology, and information theory. It further discusses how metrological frameworks such as BenchEWS could contribute to future empirical investigations while emphasizing that the hypothesis remains open to experimental validation and falsification. Keywords: Structural Compression Hypothesis, SCH, cultural evolution, narrative persistence, Trojan Cycle, Homer, Iliad, Odyssey, complex adaptive systems, complexity science, cybernetics, systems engineering, network science, resilience, self-correction, critical transitions, adaptive recovery, information theory, computational narratology, comparative mythology, cultural transmission, metrology, BenchEWS, systems thinking, philosophy of science.
