Abstract

Territory of Australia. The visitors were anthropologist Les Hiatt, myself and our two children, and Kim McKenzie, a filmmaker from the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies in Canberra, together with his sound recordist, Peter Barker. Les had known and worked closely with the Anbarra since I958, I had known them since 1975, but Peter and Kim had never met them before. Betty Meehan, Les's former wife, was also visiting the Anbarra at this time, in order to investigate aspects of their material culture.
