Summary Conciseness is key to clarity, accessibility and impact in biomedical communication. Verbose academic writing impedes comprehension, especially in multilingual and non‐native English contexts, and for non‐specialist (secondary) audiences. Clear instructional strategies can help writers reduce redundancy without compromising scientific rigour. Targeted writing support is essential at all levels in academia, ranging from undergraduate to faculty, with an emphasis on early‐career individuals who are developing their writing skills. Additional writing support may be provided for non‐native English speakers to help them become more comfortable writing about their work in English, which is the internationally accepted language of contemporary scholarly communication.
