Abstract

The antennae of insects are highly specialized and complex receptor organs which respond to diverse stimuli of different modalities cf. Schneider (1964). The following report deals with one aspect only: The perception of air currents in flying insects. This will be illustrated by behavioral and electrophysiological studies in the blow fly, Calliphora erythrocephala.
