Abstract

Preoperative assessment of parathyroid neoplasms is crucial for surgical planning, with US preferred for its detailed anatomic visualization, cost-effectiveness, absence of ionizing radiation, and ability to allow assessment of thyroid nodules concurrently during the hyperparathyroidism workup, helping determine a minimally invasive approach to parathyroidectomy.
