In this paper, we study the repulsive short-range potential influence on the linear confinement of a spinless particle. The repulsive short-range potential is built from the power-exponential potential. Then, by focusing on the region where the short-range potential is significant, we obtain the energy levels for [Formula: see text]-wave. In the following, we consider the global monopole spacetime as a background and, in addition to the repulsive short-range potential, we study their influence on the linear scalar potential.
