This work presents the results obtained from the Experimental Program and use-wear analysis of the quartz tools similar to those found in archaeological contexts in southern Punilla (Córdoba, Argentina). The significance of this research lies in its detailed understanding of the changes in the morphology of tool edges after use, which are often misinterpreted in macroscopic and typological analyses. It also emphasizes observing diagnostic microscopic use-wear that identify the material worked on, its condition, the actions performed, and the duration of use. Overall, this study provides a methodological framework for exploring the relationship between design and function and the development of use-wear traces in the case of quartz. This approach facilitates comparison with the analysis of other heterogeneous raw materials, a subject currently under development at both global and South American levels.
